OBJECTIVE:

Performing maintenance functions, including diagnosis and correction, on extrusion,

finishing, support equipment, and facilities, independently or as directed by management.

• Ordering parts as needed from suppliers to maintain equipment and facilities. Help maintain and control parts inventory systems. Maintaining adequate inventories of materials used in everyday production and tooling repair processes.
• Reading and understanding electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
• Connecting to PLC and HMI for the purposes of troubleshooting or program upload or download. Ability to make minor program modifications.
• Performing preventative maintenance audits and required repairs. Oversee data entry and monitor P.M. programs for the computer.
• Ensure proper collecting, storage, and disposal of waste materials, including oils, fluorescent lamps, batteries, etc.
• Coordinate, monitor, and assist work performed by outside contractors as necessary.
• Familiarization and adherence to current OSHA and NEC regulations.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
• Tour the plant on a routine basis to inspect machinery and processes and take action to correct unsafe working conditions and/or violations of safety rules.
• Have the necessary tools, test equipment, and understanding required to perform the job adequately.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment

This job operates in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. i.e. noise level in the manufacturing environment and job sites can be loud. The manufacturing work environment is not temperature controlled and the employee may be exposed to high heat work conditions.

The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 100 pounds and routinely lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities

required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

No travel is expected for this position.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma/GED, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Prior manufacturing experience required, plastic, extrusion, and injection molding experience preferred.
• Prior experience working with and operating manufacturing machinery preferred.

• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to listen attentively and to communicate information clearly and effectively.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work directly and indirectly with other staff members. Act as a member of a team.
• Able to follow instructions and production requirements.
• Able to act quickly when a problem arises; solve problems and make decisions as needed.
• The capacity to identify opportunities for improvement and make constructive suggestions for change.
• Basic computer skills and experience, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and additional ERP systems experience a plus.
• Ability to use and be proficient with hand tools.
