Position Overview
METCON is seeking a Construction Superintendent with 5 years of experience to oversee field operations on commercial construction projects throughout the Bay Area. This individual will be responsible for on-site supervision, safety enforcement, subcontractor coordination, and ensuring the quality execution of projects in accordance with plans, schedules, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day on-site operations for commercial construction projects.
- Lead and coordinate subcontractors, trades, and field personnel.
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications.
- Conduct weekly site meetings and enforce METCON’s safety
- Maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and quality control documentation.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to oversee the project schedule, budget, and materials.
- Interface with clients, inspectors, vendors, and city officials as needed.
- Coordinate inspections and resolve field issues to maintain project momentum.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site at all times.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a superintendent or similar role in commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, construction sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience with Procore and Microsoft Project.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-end tenant improvements in commercial office, labs, and industrial spaces.
Compensation
- $100,000 - $160,000/year
