We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU setting, including monitoring vital signs, conducting physical examinations, and performing diagnostic evaluations.
- Manage airway maintenance and ventilator support, ensuring optimal respiratory function for patients with complex needs.
- Administer medications accurately, including IV infusions, injections, and specialized treatments such as botulinum toxin therapy when applicable.
- Perform invasive procedures such as suturing, catheterization, phlebotomy, and sterile dressing changes following aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with hospital protocols and patient needs.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner for accurate medical documentation and case management.
- Conduct patient assessments related to physiology knowledge, trauma medicine, acute pain management, infectious disease care, and other specialized areas.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control standards while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Participate in discharge planning, patient education, and family communication to support recovery and long-term health management.
- Maintain proficiency in emergency procedures including airway management and basic life support (BLS) protocols.
Experience
- Minimum of two years of critical care experience within an ICU environment; experience in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in ICU-specific procedures such as ventilator management, cardiac catheterization support, dialysis coordination, and trauma medicine.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for medical documentation and patient record management.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics (memory care), behavioral health cases, or individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Knowledge of ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures, and laboratory experience related to specimen collection/processing.
- Background in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, post-acute care settings like hospice & palliative medicine or long-term care facilities is advantageous.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) is required; advanced certifications such as ACLS or PALS are preferred.
- Strong understanding of nursing documentation standards aligned with NCQA standards and HIPAA compliance.
