MetaPhase is seeking a skilled Agile Coach to guide product teams, customers, and leadership in the adoption and maturation of Agile frameworks and practices to support high-performing teams and deliver value across the enterprise. This role will provide hands-on coaching, facilitation, training, mentoring, and impediment removal while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, transparency, and servant leadership.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Serve as an enterprise-level Agile Coach or Scrum Master supporting multiple Agile teams and delivery workstreams.
- Facilitate the adoption and consistent execution of Agile/Scrum practices across teams.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to product owners, Scrum Masters, delivery teams, and stakeholders to improve team dynamics, collaboration, and delivery cadence.
- Conduct Agile maturity assessments and create actionable improvement plans tailored to each team or organization.
- Facilitate workshops, retrospectives, planning sessions, and Agile ceremonies as needed.
- Coach teams through challenges in Agile delivery including backlog refinement, story splitting, sprint planning, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Guide leadership in supporting Agile transformation efforts and shifting to an Agile mindset.
- Remove organizational and team-level impediments to ensure flow of work and increase velocity and quality.
- Serve as a change agent for Agile practices and continuous delivery improvement at the program and portfolio levels.
What We Need From You (Required):
- Minimum of 8 years of Agile software development experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in IT system analysis and Agile development.
- Experience coaching across multiple Agile teams and stakeholders in enterprise environments.
- Deep knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Lean).
- Proven facilitation and coaching skills across both delivery teams and executive leadership.
- Experience working with Agile delivery metrics and tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, VersionOne, etc.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work across multiple teams and departments.
- ACI-CP certification (Agile Certified Coach – ICP-ACC, ICP-ATF, or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) required.
- U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Bonus Points (Desired):
- SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification or other advanced SAFe credentials.
- Experience coaching federal clients or within government environments.
- Experience supporting digital modernization or DevSecOps delivery models.
- Background in Agile Portfolio Management, Value Stream Mapping, or Lean Budgeting.
Work Setup & Travel:
- Hybrid - Based in Springfield, VA. Occasional travel may be required.
Clearance & Education:
- Must be able to obtain Public Trust
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, IT Management, or related field
