Job Position : Supplier Quality Specialist
Essential Functions
- Analyze and follow up on customer complaints (internal/external), focus on root cause analysis, implementing preventive and corrective actions within the control section.
- Be experienced with problem solving tools and techniques (i.e.8D, 5Whys, Pareto, etc).
- PPAP, statical tools for process and product development and control (i.e. Gage R&R, Process Capability, GD&T, Control Plan, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
- Manage floor staff (overtime, time control, level changes, activity evaluation, etc.).
- Scanner make, update, monitor, development work instructions, layouts, reports programs, etc.
- Update Quality System documents.
- Ensure the correct implementation of the Quality System.
- Planning and implementation of new quality projects.
- Generate cost-saving initiatives with implications for product and process changes and improvement projects.
- Interpret and analyze data to develop Quality KPIs. Generate and monitor activities focused on improving quality indicators.
- Ensure the integrity of the personnel in charge.
- Provide customer service when required in a timely manner.
- Audit processes with suppliers.
- Develop and evaluate suppliers.
- Train operational personnel in specialized courses.
- Inspection record audits.
- Daily tour of the area and maintaining 5S in assigned areas.
- Ensuring the operation of quality equipment within the control section.
- Participating in forums and meetings established in the VL (Operation, Quality, Team Members, Customer, Suppliers, PM, Press and Weld etc.).
- Ensuring the availability of inspection records.
- Comply with energy saving standards and activities in accordance with the position and area, according to the guidelines of the ISO 50001 standard.
- Demonstrate the leadership to influence and drive change within a highly matrixed organization.
- Additional responsibilities as required and directed by management – this position is subject to change based as the business needs dictate.
Academic and Experience
- 4-year degree in Engineer, Industrial engineer, industrial systems engineer, mechanical engineer, electrical mechanical engineer or similar required
- 4-years of experience in quality (automotive manufacturing preferred)
- ISO/TS 16949 experience
- Experience with use of statistical tools
