Dispatcher
Metals USA has an immediate opening for a Dispatcher in our Oakwood, GA facility. The Dispatcher schedules and routes truck deliveries, pickups, and coordinates drivers, equipment and freight, as well as schedules and dispatches tractors-trailers or other vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs, using radios or telephones.
- Confers with customers and sales to address questions, problems, and requests for service, pick-up and delivery
- Prepares daily work and run schedules
- Receives or prepares shipping documents
- Monitors personnel or equipment locations and utilization to coordinate service and schedules
- Records and maintains files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information
- Determines types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications, trip destinations or load type
- May coordinate with the Drivers/Vehicle Maintenance employees when repairs and/or service maintenance is required on trucks
- Performs other related duties as requested

Qualifications:
- English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Clerical - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures equipment (printer, fax) and processes
- Basic Windows Platform Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Internet)
- DOT Standards knowledge required
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Must have a working knowledge of warehousing and basic knowledge of the capabilities of the steel processing equipment
- Familiarity with working in an industrial/metals fabrication warehouse environment.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
