Job Summary:
As an Associate Engineer at Metalock USA, you will play a vital role in providing on-site engineering support for our diverse range of repair projects. This role involves traveling to client sites to perform repairs on a variety of industrial equipment. You will be responsible for interfacing with clients, assessing equipment damage, designing repair solutions, cost estimation, quote generation, overseeing the repair process, and ensuring quality control. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, experience with on-site repairs, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills. You should anticipate up to 50% travel time.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site assessments of damaged equipment, identifying the extent of repairs needed.
- Develop detailed repair plans, including material specifications, drawings, and procedures.
- Prepare detailed technical support, repair proposals, and cost estimates for clients.
- Supervise in-situ machining and repair work, using specialized tools and techniques.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and field technicians.
- Ensure all repairs meet Metalock's high-quality standards and adhere to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and time spent.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service.
- Travel regularly to various client sites, sometimes on short notice.
- Provide technical support to clients, answering questions and offering solutions.
- Maintain and care for company-provided tools and equipment.
- Pursue improvements in work flow and facilities
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with field engineering, preferably in industrial maintenance or repair environment.
- Experience with CAD and FEA are mandatory.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles including stress analysis, machining, welding, and metallurgy.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to travel extensively and work independently in industrial environments.
- Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures.
Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year based on experience and background.
