Job description: Welder/Fitter

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Fits up to print, welds.
• Controls distortion to insure clean up.
• In and out of position pipe welding on carbon and stainless steel.
• Proficient at silver soldering using B Ag-1 alloy.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Punctuality to work each day and prepared to work scheduled work hours
• Other duties as assigned.
• Adheres to all safety and other company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

• Must be able to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 50 pounds without assistance
• Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time.
• Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.
• Visually verifies information, often in small print.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

• Requires high school diploma.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision on projects individually and periodically with small teams.
• Proficiency in English language
• Mechanical aptitude/background (relevant education a substitute for experience)
• Able to read blueprints.

Desired Skills:

• Experience in industrial environment.
• 5 years varied exposure with ability to MIG short arc in carbon steel.
• MIG flux core using carbon steel and 308 stainless wire.
• TIG on ferrous and non ferrous.

Certification Requirements

• ASME section 8
• 300 series stainless TIG process - nice to have but not required
• Must pass Metallurgical High Vacuum TIG test on 304 stainless.
