What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist position at Metallix Refining?
This position is for Monday-Friday, 1st shift, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
The Logistics specialist assists with the duties of receiving parts and consumable goods, supplier scrap, the preparation of shipments, as well as inventory control.
Has experience in a plant/warehouse shipping/receiving operation. Knowledge of shipping documentation and UPS/FEDEX processing. Intermediate MS Office and database programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Accurately document all information from incoming consumable goods and parts.
- Load and unload trucks; weigh all material from truck.
- Accurately enter receiving information into the materials management system and create excel spreadsheets.
- Prepare containers to be shipped to scrap suppliers at the request of the PMPD Buyers.
- Assist supervisor with inventory control of departmental and factory supplies.
- Assist supervisor with the preparation of High-Grade pick lists to be shipped by Air.
- Pushing, pulling of drums and equipment which could weigh more than 100 lbs. Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending and stretching.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work an occasional Saturday and/or some mandatory overtime.
Warehouse:
- Use NAV Warehouse module to enter and remove stock
- Label inventory
- Place material/stock in and remove from warehouse locations
- Perform Inventory counts as required
WORKING CONDITIONS
Schedule: The employees assigned shift will be annotated in the ADP Payroll System. Employees may be required to work any shift, including evening, weekend or holiday shifts, as needed by the Company. Any modifications to the employee's schedule will be communicated by the Manager. This is a full-time position, but some overtime work may be required.
RCRA: This position will require interaction with hazardous waste. Metallix promotes a culture of safety and is committed to taking all steps necessary to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. This position requires that the following duties be carried out in accordance with state and federal safety requirements and related Metallix policies:
- Handle hazardous waste at Satellite Accumulation Areas;
- Receive hazardous waste into facility;
- Label incoming hazardous waste per facility requirements;
- Review for accuracy and sign incoming hazardous waste manifests;
- Load/unload hazardous waste;
- Inspect hazardous waste containers;
- Handle universal waste; and
- Participate in annual RCRA hazardous waste training.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Be a “U.S. person” pursuant to section 120.15 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a plant/warehouse shipping/receiving operation.
- Knowledge of shipping documentation and UPS/FEDEX processing.
- Intermediate MS Office and database programs.
- Knowledge of health and safety programs in a manufacturing environment
