Summary
The Class B CDL Driver is responsible for safely operating a roll-off truck to transport material to and from customer sites. This role supports daily yard operations by delivering, picking up, and hauling material while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company procedures. In addition, the Driver is responsible for ensuring his or her vehicle is in compliance with the Company’s safety standards prior to operating the vehicle, ensures that all Company, state and federal regulations (DOT guidelines) are adhered to at all times while operating the vehicle.
Essential Job Functions
· Operate a roll-off truck in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
· Provide roll off delivery and removal services to customers on assigned route(s).
· Safely load, secure, transport, and unload roll off boxes.
· Responsible for counting and recording quantities and styles of product delivered and picked up to ensure accurate paperwork for customer transactions
· Conduct pre-trip/post trip inspections and complete logs.
· Maintain and update drivers log sheets.
· Professional interaction with internal and external customers.
· Identifies need for repairs and/or maintenance to vehicles and is accountable for ensuring the maintenance or repairs are accomplished with a minimum of disruption to the operation.
· Operates a variety of equipment and regularly interfaces with both internal and external customers.
· Efficiently transport, unload and distribute product to customer locations.
· Professional interface with customers; build and maintain relationships.
· Operate and maintain records in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), Department of Transportation (DOT) and company policies as required.
· Ability to drive truck with a manual transmission.
· General knowledge of mechanics of trucks
· Other related duties as assigned by Fleet Manager
Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent or a combination of experience & technical training.
· Must be 21 years of age or older
· Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
· Clean or acceptable driving record
· Experience operating roll-off trucks or similar heavy commercial vehicles preferred
· Ability to safely operate hydraulic roll-off systems and related equipment
· Familiarity with DOT rules and safe driving practices
· Must have a valid DOT medical card or able to obtain prior to hire.
· Must not have any DUI’s within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years.
· Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years.
· No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years.
· Strong verbal communication skills; will be in contact with internal dispatch personnel as well as customer representatives
· Able to count and perform basic math.
· Must be able to satisfy all DOT QA file requirements and paperwork
· Must have ability to wear/use approved applicable safety equipment, as needed.
Personal Protective Equipment Requirements
Due to the nature of this environment, when entering the yard or warehouse, employees are required to wear safety equipment to ensure a safe work environment in designated areas. This includes hard hat, steel-toed / skid resistant work boots, high-visibility clothing / vests, safety glasses, and gloves. All PPE excluding steel-toed / skid resistant work boots will be provided by Metalico.

Work Hours
· Monday through Friday with a 40 hour work week. Saturdays and overtime will be required to facilitate business and production needs.
