What you’ll run

What you’ll do
- Set up and operate production machinery safely, following established methods.
- Read and interpret drawings and routings to determine material size, material type, and quantities to produce.
- Make precise setup adjustments to consistently achieve quality parts.
- During your operation, check parts for issues carried over from earlier steps (such as burrs, missing holes, or cracks) and address appropriately.
- Complete the move ticket fully and attach it to the load.
- Report hours worked and production quantities in the applicable system.
- Handle, stack, and move materials using the safest method—cart, hand truck, or forklift—as needed.
- Perform first-piece and hourly quality inspections, tracking material using proper measuring tools and instruments.
- Follow all standard operating procedures.
- Comply with all health and safety procedures at all times.
- Train other employees as required.
- Maintain basic housekeeping of your work area (wood, scrap metal, garbage, liquid spills).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Department Assistant.
- 2 years of machine operation/setup or similar mechanical experience in manufacturing (high mechanical aptitude required).
- Understanding of quality requirements and ISO 9001:2015 procedures.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts (preferred).
- Knowledge of department procedures and applicable system transactions.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of company policies, shop rules, and safety practices.
- Careful use and maintenance of inspection devices and tools.
- Proficiency with basic shop-floor math.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong motivation and energy; able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive bending and kneeling, and to lift cumbersome/heavy objects up to 50 lbs as required.
