What you’ll tackle
- Own daily output: meet production plans without sacrificing quality or safety.
- Monitor machine performance and collaborate with maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Hire, train, coach, and evaluate team members to build a strong, engaged crew.
- Lead safety meetings, audits, and enforcement of OSHA-aligned practices.
- Capture accurate production data, reports, and documentation for full traceability.
- Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Logistics to solve problems and improve flow.
- Drive continuous improvement (5S, Kaizen, Lean) to optimize throughput and reduce waste.
- Uphold compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
What you’ve done
- 5 years in steel operations.
- 3 years managing high-throughput production, order fulfillment, and inventory.
- 1 year as a team leader or manager.
- Hands-on knowledge of warehouse, inventory, and shipping operations.
- Strong communication; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
- Microsoft Office proficiency and ERP/inventory systems expertise (SAP preferred).
- Leadership strengths: problem solving, multitasking, prioritization, and delegation.
- Detail-driven with excellent organization and follow-through.
- Trusted, ethical, positive, and approachable presence on the floor.
- Current understanding of OSHA and safety best practices.
- Lean Six Sigma or similar continuous improvement training.
