Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Metal Fabrication Shop Help to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will assist with various tasks in the metal fabrication shop, supporting skilled welders and fabricators to ensure smooth operations. Your energetic approach and mechanical aptitude will contribute to producing high-quality metal components and assemblies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while developing your skills in welding, cutting, measuring, and assembly.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of metal materials, including sheet metal and other raw materials for fabrication projects
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to cut, grind, drill, and assemble metal parts according to specifications
- Use measuring instruments like calipers, micrometers, and tape measures to verify dimensions and ensure precision
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings accurately
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures
- Assist with plasma cutting, machining, assembly, and other fabrication tasks as needed to support the team’s workflow
Experience
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of shop math and measurements for fabrication purposes
- Experience working with metal materials including sheet metal is advantageous
- Ability to operate power tools and measuring instruments safely and effectively
- Prior exposure to safety protocols within a manufacturing or construction environment is beneficial
