Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect parts and materials for defects and nonconformities according to set standards and specifications
- Document inspection results, measurements, and findings accurately
- Interpret and review technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to ensure product conformity
- Assist operators with equipment setup and quality checks as needed
- Identify and report quality issues or trends and suggest corrective actions
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment compliant with company policies
- Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in quality control or a manufacturing environment preferred
- Basic knowledge of measuring tools, such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and protractors
- Understanding of measurement principles and quality standards
- Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication abilities
- Basic computer skills for data entry and report preparation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Post-secondary training in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field
- Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems
- Familiarity with root cause analysis methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram)
- Previous experience with metal fabrication processes
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
