What are the responsibilities and job description for the SHIPPING RECEIVING (Receiving Coordinator) position at Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation?
Summary:
Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Denver plant, located in Longmont, CO is seeking a reliable and highly motivated individual to join our warehouse team.
This is a permanent full-time position working first shift hours with competitive pay! Overtime including working on weekends may be required during peak season.
In this position, you will be responsible for receiving daily shipments of materials, packages, supplies, lumber, returned goods, and assisting with the inbound flow of the dock. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and adherence to all safety procedures is essential.
You’ll be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Unloading trucks and receiving in daily shipments via materials purchase/branch transfer
- Verifying receiving documents against purchase order
- Validating shipment invoices to physical inspection of materials for inventory
- Reporting damage of incoming/outgoing product
- Maintaining, updating and understanding process for balancing coil cards for inventory reporting
- Staging of materials with appropriate inventory location
- Order picking/pulling and stocking when workload allows
- Assisting with cycle counts and other inventory activities
- Additional duties to assist teams as needed may be required from time to time
- Following all safety guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment and assisting other departments as needed
The most qualified candidates will have:
- Experience working in a manufacturing/distribution environment
- Experience with receiving, inventory logistics, and cycle counting
- Ability to read a tape measure, do basic math, and operate office equipment (copier, scanner, fax, etc.)
- Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as an active member of a team
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- High school diploma or GED
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Must be able to read, hear, talk, wear PPE, and lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively and up to 70 lbs. occasionally
- Must be able to stand, bend, and/or walk approximately 7 ½ hours minimum per work shift
- Must be able to tolerate extreme temperature changes in the winter and summer months
- Noise level is moderate to loud
