What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Engineer position at Metal Coatings & Mfg Co Inc?
Solidworks and JobBOSS will be utilized to perform the following tasks:
- This position will assist staff in the creation and release of product drawings and related engineering documentation.
Essential Functions:
- Determine the design details, such as standard component selection, thread and tolerance specifications, etc.
- Design components to be machined, bent, laser cut, and formed for assemblies as required.
- Create or revise accurate, detailed SolidWorks CAD models, drawings, BOM's, and other engineering documentation as required.
- Participate in design and drawing reviews, prototype builds and verification and documentation.
- Release drawings via Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) process and update files.

Work Environment:
- This job operates in a job shop environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position also requires the use of tape measures, micrometers, calipers and other types of standard measuring equipment.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
