Mechanic for Automotive Restoration Shop

We are a dedicated automotive restoration shop located in Statesville NC specializing in classic, custom, and performance vehicles. Responsibilities:

• Perform mechanical repairs, rebuilds, and maintenance on classic and custom vehicles
• Diagnose issues with engines, drivetrains, suspensions, brakes, and electrical systems
• Assist with disassembly and reassembly during full restorations
• Work closely with team members to ensure seamless restoration projects
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Document work performed and communicate progress with management

Qualifications:

• 5 years of professional experience as an automotive mechanic (restoration of classic car experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of classic car systems (carburetors, manual transmissions, drum brakes, etc.) and modern upgrades (fuel injection, disc brakes, LS swaps, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving
• Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• Own a set of professional-grade tools (shop provides specialty tools)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Preferred Skills (not required, but a plus):

• Welding and light fabrication experience
• Electrical wiring and aftermarket systems installation
• Performance tuning experience
