About Us

Metairie Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is a private orthopedic and sports medicine practice located near Causeway and Veterans Boulevard in Metairie, with ample on-site parking.

Our three-physician practice includes Dr. R. Douglas Bostick III and Dr. Ryan C. Roubion, both board-certified orthopedic surgeons, and hand and wrist specialist Dr. John Hildenbrand.

We care for patients with sports injuries, fractures, joint conditions, and hand and wrist conditions, with on-site digital X-ray, diagnostic ultrasound, and image-guided injections.

Our patients see the same physician throughout their care—from their first visit through treatment, surgery when needed, and follow-up. That continuity extends to our staff and is an important part of our small-practice environment.

About the Role

This is a combined X-ray imaging and clinical support position, and we want to be upfront about what that means.

You will perform the X-rays needed by the practice using digital radiography, with a case mix consisting primarily of extremity and spine studies. Our imaging volume is steady rather than high.

The remainder of your time will be spent supporting patient care, including rooming patients, preparing charts, and assisting the clinical team with patient flow.

The role generally averages about 50% imaging and 50% clinical support, although the mix varies by day and may occasionally shift more heavily toward clinical responsibilities.

If you are looking to spend your entire day performing imaging studies, this may not be the right position. But if you enjoy variety, like getting to know your patients, and want to work closely with physicians and colleagues as part of a small clinical team, this could be an excellent fit.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.

No nights. No weekends. No call. The clinic is closed on major holidays.

For technologists looking to move away from hospital schedules, the predictable weekday schedule is one of the position’s biggest advantages.

What You’ll Do

·  Perform diagnostic X-ray imaging for orthopedic and sports medicine patients, primarily extremity and spine studies

·  Follow radiation safety and protection protocols for every study

·  Room patients, take vitals, and prepare charts ahead of provider visits

·  Support physicians and the clinical team with patient flow throughout the day

·  Maintain accurate imaging documentation in the patient record

·  Keep imaging equipment in good working order and report issues promptly

·  Move comfortably between imaging and clinical responsibilities based on the needs of the practice

What We’re Looking For

·  Current certification or licensure as an X-Ray Technologist or Radiologic Technologist meeting Louisiana requirements

·  A dependable, patient-focused professional who is comfortable balancing imaging and clinical responsibilities

·  Reliability and sound judgment in a small-practice environment where team members support one another

·  Clear, professional communication with patients, physicians, and colleagues

·  A willingness to learn and contribute wherever needed to keep patient care moving efficiently

New graduates are encouraged to apply. Orthopedic imaging experience is helpful but not required. We will train the right person on our protocols and workflow.

Compensation & Benefits

·  $26–$32 per hour, depending on experience

·  Health insurance beginning after 30 days of employment, with the practice paying 70% of the employee premium
