SUMMARY

Loads reels with conduit, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Accurately read pipe print to assure product meets specified requirements.
• Accurately read sequential counter to assure proper pipe length.
• Applies bands around pipe to restrain movement.
• Insert scrap pipe into grinder.
• Operate forklift safely and efficiently to position full reels.
• Maintain work area.
• Assist in changeovers.
• Read work orders and accurately determine correct specified print.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, and work crew.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, and decimals. Ability to read a tape measure.
