Music Creative Producer - AI Music
Job Title: Music Creative Producer
Location: San Francisco, CA
Summary:
The Meta Creative Audio team is looking for an experienced Music Creative Producer to join us on a hands-on, contingent engagement. The ideal candidate pairs strong music production skills with proven project management ability and a genuine curiosity for generative AI. Day to day, the role is split evenly between (1) hands-on AI content production (prompt engineering, prompt tuning, benchmarking, and structured evaluations of generative music models) and (2) project management support ( planning, tracking, coordinating cross-functional deliverables, and ensuring quality milestones are met). A solid background in music production, comfort with technical and AI-driven workflows, and strong organizational skills are essential.
Job Responsibilities:
Drive AI music production projects to completion: plan, track, and deliver across multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Execute and maintain AI music production pipelines, including implementation, deployment, and ongoing quality control across Meta platforms
Collaborate cross-functionally with music research scientists, software engineers, and product managers, to drive alignment and meet milestones
Translate creative and technical requirements into actionable production plans, briefs, and specifications as directed by the team lead
Stress-test prototypes and outputs ahead of leadership reviews, dogfooding sessions, and public-facing launches; triage and escalate issues, and maintain QA processes to ensure readiness
Work hands-on with emerging generative audio tools and technologies, applying production expertise to assess output quality and share clear, actionable feedback with research and product teams
Produce and refine AI-generated music through prompt engineering, prompt tuning, and iterative generation workflows across generative music models
Run structured evaluations and benchmarks of model outputs — including rubric-based scoring, blind A/B comparisons, and model-to-model quality assessments
Document and share processes, technical setups, and project workflows to support team consistency and knowledge continuity
Required Skills:
4+ years in music production, audio design, or equivalent creative experience, with demonstrated project management and coordination ability
Proven ability to drive multiple concurrent projects to completion: planning, tracking, stakeholder updates, and delivery with minimal oversight
Experience working with cross-functional project teams; able to adapt communication across disciplines (research, engineering, product, creative)
Strong critical listening skills and experience verifying audio quality across software and hardware, with a proven ear for maintaining high standards
Experience with music production or audio post production, including composing, recording, editing, and mastering
Proficiency in digital audio workstations and editing tools (Pro Tools, Ableton, Izotope, Waves)
Comfortable using command-line interface (CLI) tools for daily tasks and troubleshooting
Strong understanding of DSP, audio synthesis, and digital audio concepts and formats
Familiarity with generative AI music tools, prompt-based workflows, and structured evaluation methodologies
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience evaluating creative output against quality frameworks or rubrics
Scripting or programming experience (e.g. Python, C++) for workflow automation
Familiarity with AI and generative AI systems (e.g. LLMs), and/or text-to-music model training
Project/program management certification or formal PM training a plus
