Lease Connectivity Engineer — LEAD (Contingent Worker)

A highly qualified contingent worker who operates on behalf of Meta as the owner's representative for connectivity delivery across a set of leased data center projects. The CE Lead carries owner-side accountability for the connectivity program's cost, schedule, and quality; directs Support CEs and installation vendors; owns the technical design/constructability authority; and sets connectivity standards and best practices across multiple sites — going beyond executing connectivity scope on a single site.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Act as Meta's owner's representative for connectivity (ISP/OSP) delivery across an assigned set of leased data center projects, managing the full lifecycle from initiation to production turnover and making independent technical decisions in the field.
Carry owner-side accountability for connectivity cost, schedule, and quality certainty across multiple sites; serve as the escalation point and technical authority for the Support CEs and vendors delivering the work.
Project Planning & Control: Develop and maintain project scope, schedules, and milestones across the assigned portfolio; coordinate with site construction management teams throughout the lifecycle.
Technical Leadership & Authority: Serve as the design/constructability authority for connectivity — lead product evaluation, design, and installation methods; own the Request for Information (RFI) process; bring network-architecture fluency (N/S–E/W traffic, pathways, capacity, serviceability) to constructability reviews across multiple design phases.
Standards & Best Practices: Set and document connectivity SOPs/SIPs and best practices; review ongoing projects for efficiencies and drive continuous improvement across the program.
Vendor & People Leadership: Direct Support CEs and installation vendors as boots-on-the-ground extensions of the team; manage all connectivity field activities (OSP/ISP), set and communicate clear expectations, build key partner relationships, and drive a culture of "right first time." Mentor and develop the connectivity team.
Quality Assurance: Own physical inspections to ensure vendor work meets DEC quality standards throughout the data center lifecycle — validating physical installs, test reports, build accuracy, and material/local-code compliance.
Forecasting & Budgeting: Accountable for connectivity forecasting and budget; ensure clear, proactive communication of project status and risks to all stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Ownership: Own connectivity relationships with construction partners, logistics, design, landlords, and cross-functional partners; serve as the single source of truth and provide executive-level reporting.
Site Assessment & Modification Planning: Lead assessments of existing sites, develop modification plans/proposals (cost-benefit, risk), oversee implementation with minimal disruption, and conduct post-modification reviews.
Safety & Compliance: Lead a "safety first" culture and ensure adherence to all safety obligations.
Travel: Minimum 50% travel to sites across North America.

Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in project management, with significant experience leading connectivity/telecom delivery as an owner's representative on hyperscale, enterprise, or colocation data center programs.
Deep ISP/OSP, structured cabling, and fiber-optic expertise (design, testing, gear and network components, installation standards).
Experience leading vendors and teams, engaging and guiding stakeholders, and providing solutions to construction-related problems.
Proficiency in Google Docs, MS Office, and MS Project; experience with Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
Preferred Qualifications:
BICSI RCDD (and/or BICSI TECH), PMP strongly preferred.
Experience in data center development/construction management; Primavera P6; managing IT/IP network deployment projects.
Network architecture understanding (N/S–E/W traffic separation, capacity planning) and design-build delivery / constructability reviews.
Track record setting standards and best practices across a multi-site portfolio.

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $78.11/hour - $97.64/hour.
