Meta is seeking Program Controls Manager to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction (DEC) Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The Program Controls Manager role is a critical leadership role, serving as a backbone for DEC’s global business controls team. The role will lead early product planning efforts, supporting the strategy and engineering teams with business controls support, as well as lead the cost and schedule ‘central’ business controls Operations teams, supporting the execution focused teams with data/automation, process development/maintenance, reporting and other programmatic support. This role manages managers of these functions and needs to have the ability to leverage subject matter experts to become an enabling function for the project controls teams. The position will report to the Global Business Controls Manager and develop deep partnership with the execution project controls leaders, Preconstruction leaders, Design and Engineering teams as well as Subject Matter Experts from Cross functional groups, whose systems and processes impact and influence the schedules, with a focus on optimizing duration, cost and innovation for the global program. In addition, the position will develop industry partnerships to enhance the impact of the Business Controls team across our fleet of existing and future, state-of-the-art data centers and retrofits, globally. Program Controls Manager Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of leaders and subject matter expert providing the engineering, strategy and project controls organization with enabling support, with a business controls lens (risk identification, planning, change management)
- Ownership of people manager responsibilities including career growth, empowerment, communication of business context, and overall cultural leadership within the broader Business Controls team
- Influence partner organizations involved with planning, program management efforts and help drive decision making focused on cost controls and schedule consideration, partnering with the right subject matter experts across the organization
- Partner with execution Project Controls teams to lead strategic cost and schedule focused initiatives, enabling consistency of process and incorporating lessons learned to allow for adequate scenario planning
- Lead the development of master program schedule that allows effective scenario planning, and executive reporting, to highlight major schedule related insights
- Lead a team that can effectively partner with an extensive set of stakeholders (internal and external), to develop effective (sometimes complex) financial solutions and optimized and efficient schedule sequence to enable future work/planning efforts
- Partner with Execution schedule team to perform analysis and optimization of cost and schedule contractual requirements and specifications (Division 1 specifications), including collaboration with required stakeholders for the same
- Support the global Business Controls teams with the development and tracking of goals in a manner that helps enable the team to accomplish organizational goals. Also, developing and refining the vision, mission, roadmap for this elite programmatic team, in a manner that helps enable the Business Controls team efficiently achieve its goals
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS in construction management, engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction and project management
- 7 years in people management experience and experience managing managers
- Knowledge of project controls tools and systems (ERP tools, P6, Excel, etc.) and practices including schedule, financial accounting procedures
- Communication, organization, and analytical skills in this highly collaborative and strategic role
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate level cross-functional coordination and process/project leadership
- Experience with large CapEx programs and project controls
