About the Role
Meta is seeking a skilled Data Engineer for a temporary contract assignment to support data infrastructure and analytics initiatives. This is a fixed-term engagement with a defined scope of work and deliverables. The contractor will work independently to execute data engineering projects while collaborating with Meta's technical teams.
Responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
• Develop and optimize data models and database schemas
• Implement data quality monitoring and validation frameworks
• Create and maintain documentation for data systems and processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues
• Ensure data security and compliance with established protocols
• Deliver project milestones according to agreed-upon timelines
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or related field
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, Scala)
• Experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.)
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and manage project deliverables
• Excellent communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder updates

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $71.10/hour – $88.87/hour.
