Summary
Seeking a PhD student researcher to advance neural network architectures and embedding techniques for recommendation systems, focusing on feature interactions, model generalization, and integration of language model embeddings with behavioral data.

Responsibilities
Research novel architectures including attention mechanisms, network compression, and embedding optimization techniques
Develop frameworks combining semantic embeddings with graph/sequence-based behavioral data using dual-representation approaches
Design resilient systems handling mixed data types with feature reconstruction and smoothness optimization
Implement and evaluate improvements for retrieval, feature engineering, and privacy-preserving applications
Collaborate with industry teams to integrate research findings into production systems

Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing PhD in Computer Science or related field
3+ years experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow)
Strong understanding of neural architectures, embeddings, and graph neural networks
Experience with recommendation systems, collaborative filtering, and production ML
Published research in ML/RecSys/NLP conferences preferred

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor degree or significant experience in data science, computer science, economics, statistics, or other functional required.
• PHD in a social science related field (social psychology, sociology, etc.)

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $29.65/hour - $37.06/hour.
