Assistant Manager — Messina Modern Italian Kitchen
We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Manager to lead floor service Wednesday–Sunday at our busy restaurant near Climate Pledge Arena.
We need someone kind, reliable, and confident who enjoys high-volume service, stays calm under pressure, and helps the team feel supported and ready for a busy night.
What you’ll do:
- Run floor service, lead pre-shifts, assign sections, and manage breaks and cuts to keep labor within 25–30% each shift.
- Stay on the floor, help wherever needed, and keep service moving.
- Step in to bartend or serve tables when needed.
- Handle guest concerns calmly and professionally.
- Manage scheduling and shift coverage.
- Support new-hire training and coach staff with clear, respectful direction.
- Oversee closing, cash handling, and a small amount of admin work.
- Build a positive team culture focused on kindness, respect, teamwork, and hospitality.
What we need:
- Leadership experience in a high-volume restaurant.
- Bartending and serving experience, with the ability to confidently cover either role.
- Someone who stays steady when things get busy and makes decisions without needing constant direction.
- Clear communication, strong follow-through, and a team-first attitude.
- Someone approachable who can hold people accountable respectfully.
- Wednesday–Sunday availability, including evenings and weekends.
This is primarily a floor leadership role with minimal admin. We need someone present, engaged, and ready to lead a great service while making both our guests and team feel taken care of.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $76,400.00 per year
