Youth Director
Duties:
Messiah Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Port Byron, IL is seeking Youth Program Director to work with our grades 6th - 12th youth group. Job will involve 10-15 hours per week, primarily with grades 9-12. Previous experience and or education in this area is desirable. Must have own vehicle for occasional off site events. Apply by August 7, 2026. Requirements:
· Must pass a criminal /credit background check, for the safety of our youth
· Must have own vehicle, Insurance, and valid driver's license (with clean driving record) to commute to the church and drive for occasional events off site.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Must be an active member of a Christian church.
· Ability to plan and execute events and programs.
· Excellent organizational skills.
· Must be willing - if from a non-Lutheran tradition - to support Lutheran theology with the youth.
· Previous experience in leading a successful church youth program is a plus.
· Relate well to, and love working with, youth of the above age groups.
· Must be 20 years of age by October 2026
Job Type: Part-time
