Our roots trace back to 1896, when the Brethren in Christ Church founded Messiah Home in Harrisburg, PA, to serve older adults with Christ-like love.
Who You Are
The Residential Living Counselor supports Messiah Lifeways’ mission by achieving residential living occupancy goals while delivering a warm, professional, and highly personalized experience for prospective residents and their families. This role coordinates admissions and move-ins, manages reservations and documentation, provides tours and consultations, and partners closely with internal teams to ensure a smooth transition into residential living. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have knowledge of/experience in the following:

- Customer Service: Friendly, professional, and service-oriented demeanor
- Resident Sensitivity: Demonstrates sensitivity and responsiveness to the needs of residents
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective residential living residents, providing tours, interviews, and information about Messiah Lifeways services and communities
- Manage reservations for residential living apartments and cottages, including agreements and contract execution
- Coordinate the admissions and move-in process for new residents and internal transfers, ensuring accurate and complete social and financial documentation
- Maintain accurate records related to admissions, discharges, transfers, and room changes within the CRM database
- Assist residents with selections related to finishes or upgrades
- Conduct annual competitive market analysis and provide recommendations and trend insights to leadership
What Else You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, senior care, geriatrics, or a related field (preferred, but not required)
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in sales, admissions, senior living, healthcare, or a related environment
- Demonstrated ability to discuss placement options and work with referral sources
