Our roots trace back to 1896, when the Brethren in Christ Church founded Messiah Home in Harrisburg, PA, to serve older adults with Christ-like love.
Who You Are
The Nursing Certified Nursing Assistant is charged with performing various resident care activities. This position is also tasked with duties to include supporting residents with personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, and other essential needs in accordance with individualized care plans.
To be successful in this role you’ll need to have knowledge of/experience in the following:

Proficiency in technology and systems management- Office Suite (Microsoft), POC, Electronic Health Records Systems

Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills – able to communicate effectively with residents, families’ interdisciplinary teams, and external partners both in person and over the phone

Effective and Efficient- skilled in both verbal and written communication across diverse audiences

Highly organized and detail-oriented – maintaining accuracy and focus in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
What You’ll Do
- Required to work 4 days a month , 2 weekend days / month , and your assigned winter , and summer holiday

Serve and assist residents with nourishment and feeding

Transfer residents from bed to chair, etc., with personnel or mechanical assistance

Prepare and/or transport residents to and from activities, physician visits, therapy, beauty shop or other facilities, as directed during shift assignments

Observe residents, charting and/or documenting physical conditions, attitudes and appetites, reporting changes or unusual findings to Staff Nurses

Properly use and care for Messiah Lifeways supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner
Potential Career Growth Track- CNA Scheduler, LPN, RN, Clinical Manager
What Else You’ll Need

One (1) year long-term care experience (preferred but not required)

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

CNA Certification
