About the Job: Messersmith Manufacturing Inc. is a leader in the biomass boiler system industry. At our facility in Bark River, MI, we design and manufacture biomass boiler systems to serve customers in the education, healthcare, government, forest products, greenhouse, and industrial sectors. We are currently looking for a Production Manager to work out of our office in Bark River, MI. This is a full-time day shift position. Job Description:
· Manage the production manufacturing team:
- Train, develop, and evaluate employees. Document training of new employees on all manufacturing equipment.
· Motivate, support, and provide guidance to production staff.
· Conduct safety meetings and ensure all safety standards are met to keep an accident-free workplace.
- Review and sign off on drawings prior to manufacturing.
- Maintain quality control by ensuring that components are built according to specifications.
- Train, develop, and evaluate employees. Document training of new employees on all manufacturing equipment.
- Document processes for manufacturing equipment.
· Communicate regularly with upper management regarding any issues or concerns.
· Continually evaluate resources to ensure continued production with minimal downtime.
· Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
- Communicate with engineering regarding production drawings or required changes.
· Conduct weekly production meetings.
· Schedule production of all manufactured equipment.
· Schedule maintenance of shop equipment and vehicles.
· Maintain order and discipline in the shop by enforcing the company handbook and communicating policy and procedure changes.
Skills / Qualifications:
· Strong management skills
· Excellent planning & organizational skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills\
· Ability to organize and manage multiple projects at a time.
· Ability to coach and motivate employees
- Ability to communicate with internal staff and external vendors
· Experience with weld processes, engineering drawings, and fabrication procedures would be helpful but not required.
