Messer Truck Equipment is looking for a driven, hands-on Operations Manager to help lead and scale operations across multiple locations. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, service-driven environment and is passionate about developing teams, improving processes, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
What You’ll Do
Operations & Leadership
- Lead daily operations across multiple shop locations
- Supervise, schedule, and support technicians and shop teams
- Assign work, balance workloads, and optimize shop throughput
- Partner with Shop Supervisors to drive performance and accountability
Customer Experience & Quality
- Ensure a seamless customer journey from intake to delivery
- Interface with customers in person and via phone as needed
- Own and enforce quality control standards across all work performed
- Review and validate repair and installation orders
Continuous Improvement (Lean Leader)
- Champion lean and continuous improvement initiatives across all locations
- Identify inefficiencies and lead cross-functional solutions
- Act as the hub of the shop—problem solver, coach, and process owner
- Drive measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and turnaround time
Team Development
- Coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams
- Establish performance standards and hold teams accountable
- Build a culture of ownership, urgency, and continuous growth
Facilities & Systems
- Oversee facility operations and fleet management
- Support systems administration, ERP usage, and process optimization
What You Bring (Must-Haves)
- 5–10 years of automotive, truck equipment, or heavy equipment experience
- 3 years of leadership/people management experience
- Strong operational mindset with ability to prioritize in real time
- Proven ability to lead in a fast-changing environment
- Hands-on, self-directed leadership style
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable with technology and shop systems
What Sets You Apart (Nice-to-Haves)
- Lean / Continuous Improvement experience
- ERP system experience
- College degree (business, operations, or related field)
- Track record of improving shop efficiency and performance
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to stand for extended period
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
