The Workforce Development and Recruitment Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the company’s commitment to hiring, developing, and retaining a diverse and skilled workforce. This position focuses on engaging and supporting Spanish-speaking candidates and employees, ensuring equitable access to opportunities, resources, and training programs.
What You Will Do
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to attract Spanish-speaking candidates for open positions across the company.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, training centers, and educational institutions that serve Spanish-speaking communities.
- Assist with screening, interviewing, and onboarding Spanish-speaking candidates, ensuring clear communication throughout the hiring process.
- Provide translation and interpretation services during interviews, orientations, trainings, and employee meetings as needed.
- Coordinate and deliver workforce development programs, including skills training, apprenticeships, and career pathways for Spanish-speaking employees.
- Support managers and supervisors in developing strategies for retaining Spanish-speaking employees, including cultural competency resources and communication support.
- Serve as a point of contact for Spanish-speaking employees, helping them navigate company resources, policies, and career development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on workforce development initiatives and outcomes.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Safety, and Operations teams to identify and address language or cultural barriers in the workplace.
- Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English (spoken and written).
- 2 years of experience in workforce development, recruiting, HR, community outreach, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong understanding of the needs and strengths of Spanish-speaking communities and workers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience developing or delivering training or educational programs is a plus.
- Familiarity with the construction industry or similar fields is preferred but not required.
- Proficient with standard office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic HR systems.
- Position is office-based in Cincinnati; regular visits to job sites, community partners, or training centers throughout the company’s regional footprint is expected.
- Regional travel 30-40%
- Occasional evening or weekend work to attend job fairs or community events.
