As an Information Technology Service Desk Co-Op, you will collaborate with business analysts & stakeholders to develop business requirements, business cases & test plans. Work to ensure a positive end product for business stakeholders. Creates and maintains proper training materials and business documentation. Supports cross-departmental projects and follows IT-prescribed application development processes. Draft applications using Microsoft Excel, SQL, VB queries, and Power BI. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

What You Will Do
- Respond promptly to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone or electronically.
- Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to handle inquiries and requests.
- Setup hardware to be used by Messer personnel including laptops, PC’s, networking equipment and mobile devices
- Configure software to be used by Messer personnel.
- Follow documented task and processes as assigned.
- Seek new methods or improvements to documented tasks and update documentation accordingly.
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues / requests.
- Record details of inquiries and requests as well as actions taken.
- Communicate and coordinate with internal departments or other project leads.
- Stay current with system information, changes and updates.
- Travel to company locations for setup or troubleshooting as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in progress required. Undergraduate student with a concentration in business computer-related field
- Part-time hours during the school year, with the opportunity to increase hours during the summer
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, including a good working knowledge of financial formulas and analysis in Excel
- Exposure to or experience with systems support, project management, and analysis
- Strong communication skills, as interaction with internal clients as well as a wide range of personalities and skill sets, is a part of the job daily
- Ability to take initiative, collaborate with others, to utilize resources, and to communicate effectively
- Proven analytical skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative and help with developing creative solutions to meet business needs
- Experience working in a team, preferably on projects as well as in a support role
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Tools: Word and Excel
- Knowledge of SQL, Power BI & Visio is a plus
