Messer is seeking a Business Development Co-op/Intern for Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2026. This person will support our Business Development efforts in multiple regions, but primarily focused in Cincinnati. They will help find new opportunities, research clients and decision makers, maintain our database of opportunities through our CRM software and support the pursuit of several large projects. This position will provide experience in understanding the Business Development operation of a large complex commercial construction company.

What You Will Do
- Utilize strategic account planning and sales pipeline management tools
- Follow a proven sales process that includes prospecting, qualifying, targeting, identifying customer needs, developing value propositions, presenting solutions and alternatives, and closing the sale for future construction project opportunities
- Work collaboratively with regional operations team to create and implement strategic plans to generate business opportunities, which result in achieved revenue objectives for the Cincinnati region
- Continuously grow and develop your skills supporting project teams in selling high-end conceptual services to executive-level managers and buyers of large corporations and agencies
- Gain knowledge of marketplace issues, industry trends, competitive information, customer expectations, public policy and other market drivers
- Make decisions based on Messer's long-term growth philosophy and core values
- Possess an understanding of construction basics
- Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- Efficient software skills including PowerPoint, MS Word and Excel, Bluebeam, Salesforce
- Ability to learn both construction and sales processes and terminology
- Valid driver’s license
