EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- Oversee computer repair and deployment operations. Manage the computer repair teams and provide them with logistical assistance as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Texas driver’s license
- Must have wide range of knowledge related to computer systems and their peripherals
- Must be familiar with the systems in an Active Directory environment that facilitate computer operations critical to the district.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot computer related failures in a large- scale enterprise environment
- Must be able to organize and delegate technician workload to facilitate speedy repairs throughout the district
- Must be able to effectively communicate the goals and objectives for the computer repair staff and be able to implement policies that allow them to be carried out
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in computer repair in an enterprise scale
- environment
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Oversee computer technician assignments and facilitate the technician’s ability to execute their assignments
- Oversee the logistics of repairing and maintaining the school district’s inventory of
- 40,000 Chromebooks
- Maintain readiness to meet unforeseen challenges and projects that might arise that are important to MISD
- Coordinate computer operations involving other departments and other Technical Services divisions
- Provide technical support and guidance to aid computer technicians in the performance of their job
- Provide minor system admin assistance moving and deleting computer objects in Active Directory
- Provide remote desktop support through SCCM as needed
- Fill in for technicians in the event of absence
- Collaborate with school administrators and teachers to understand their technology needs and provide tailored support
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handle any disciplinary issues or disputes involving computer technicians in a fair and professional manner
- Review technician work orders and work logs to assess performance and correct areas that may be deficient
- Facilitate the resolution of any computer service-related complaints in the school district
- Writing routine reports and correspondence
- Interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to make informed recommendations for technology improvements
- Ability to meet deadlines from multiple assignment requests on a frequent basis.
- Train, mentor and guide new and veteran computer technicians
WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Intermittent walking, sitting, and standing
- Occasional warehouse visits to inventory merchandise and occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 20 lbs.
- Reaching with hands and arms frequently repeating the same hand, arm, or finger motion
