Mesnard Law Office is seeking a highly organized, experienced, and detail-oriented Transaction Paralegal to join our legal team. In this role, you will support the solo attorney on complex transactional matters across various practice areas, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and successful closing of transactions. Attorney Mesnard is a tax and transactional attorney, focusing on high net worth estate and tax planning, estate and trust administration, closely held business representation, M&A, and real estate.
This role is meant to be part-time (full-time is negotiable, depending on work load), and is ideal for a candidate who left large law firm practice and is looking for fewer hours than large law firm practice. The pay rate is meant to represent a professional rate to a paralegal who produces usable work product and who contributes significantly to the firm's billable hours.
- Assist attorneys with drafting, reviewing, and organizing business governance and transactional documents such as bylaws, contracts, agreements, and disclosures.
- Assist with real estate searches and conveyance documentation.
- Conduct thorough legal research across multiple practice areas including estate planning, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), and securities law to support transaction preparation.
- Manage and maintain case files using document management systems like Clio, Microsoft and Google, ensuring all records are accurate, complete, and easily accessible.
- Perform detailed document review and proofreading to verify accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legal standards.
- Support project management efforts by coordinating deadlines, tracking deliverables, and communicating with internal teams and external clients or vendors.
- Prepare summaries, reports, and memos that synthesize complex legal information for attorneys’ review.
- Assist with client interviews by gathering pertinent information efficiently while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Provide executive administrative support as needed to ensure smooth office operations related to transactional work.
- Extensive knowledge of various legal practice areas including estate planning, business and corporate, real estate, and probate.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting contracts, legal memos, summaries, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Superior proofreading abilities to ensure error-free documents before submission or filing.
- Effective organizational skills for managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines consistently.
- Demonstrated ability in conducting interviews professionally while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
- Experience supporting attorneys in fast-paced transactional environments.
- Exceptional communication skills.
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
