What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Worker position at Mesher Supply Co?
Warehouse Worker General Position Summary:
Pulls inventory to fulfill orders and/or receives new inventory into warehouse or storage yard.
Essential Functions/Major Duties:
- Pull material to complete orders
- Pull material to complete Branch transfers
- Inventory Control, including, but not limited to material “counts” on demand, filling stock bins, notifying Purchasing Agent of low stock
- Unloading of freight trucks
- Put away freight and other incoming material
- Forklift driving
- Keep pipe yard clean and orderly
- General cleaning, including, but not limited to emptying garbage cans, keeping aisles swept and tidy, work area clean and clear of debris
- Able to speak, read, write and understand English to effectively fulfill job duties.
- Able to answer verbal and visual directions.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Interpersonal Contacts:
- Constant interaction with customers and coworkers throughout the day.
- Contacts are generally 70% facetoface, 20% on the phone, and 10% via email.
- Most interactions are routine and information is easily communicated.
- No supervisory responsibility.
Specific Job Skills:
- Forklift Certification
- Ability to operate equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 6 months experience in construction industry
- 6 month experience in warehouse/distribution
Job Conditions:
- General warehouse and outdoor supply yard environment, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust and noise.
- Heavy lifting and constant standing, reaching, and bending.
- Daytime shifts between MondayFriday 5am5pm.
