The Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the asphalt production plant, ensuring the production of high-quality hot mix asphalt in accordance with project specifications and safety standards. This role includes monitoring equipment, managing raw materials, operating a loader, and coordinating with drivers and paving crews to meet delivery schedules.

Duties/Responsibilities
Operates plant equipment to produce asphalt according to specified mix designs.
Monitors plant operations to ensure consistent quality and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Maintains inventory of raw materials and coordinates deliveries to ensure uninterrupted production.
Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment.
Communicates with dispatch and paving crews to ensure timely delivery of asphalt to job sites.
Keeps accurate records of production, maintenance, and inventory.
Ensures cleanliness and organization of the plant area.
Operates heavy equipment such as front-end loader to load materials
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and specifications.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and physically demanding environment.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of experience in asphalt plant operations or related construction work preferred.
Knowledge of asphalt materials, mix designs, and plant processes required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, dust, and loud machinery.
Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
