Job Summary
As a Regulatory Compliance Analyst at Mesa, you will support the execution of air quality compliance activities to help ensure company engines and generator systems meet applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. This role focuses on maintaining accurate records, tracking regulatory and permit requirements, and supporting documentation and reporting needs related to regulations such as the Clean Air Act, NSPS Subpart JJJJ, and state permitting programs. You will contribute to permitting, emissions, testing, and compliance workflows through data entry, tracking, documentation, and coordination support, while working in an environment where processes are continuing to evolve. You will be expected to take initiative, identify gaps, ask questions, and help bring clarity to work that may not always have a defined path. You will help ensure compliance information is accurate, complete, and organized, while supporting internal teams and customers with routine compliance needs. This role may also include periodic field work to support emissions testing, data collection, and coordination with field operations. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills, along with the ability to adapt, think critically, and build foundational knowledge of regulatory requirements, company equipment, and operational workflows.
Essential Duties
- Enter, organize, and maintain compliance-related data, including permitting, emissions, testing, and operational records
- Maintain and update tracking tools for regulatory requirements, permit conditions, testing, monitoring, and reporting timelines
- Track engine operating hours, maintenance activities, testing events, and compliance obligations to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Compile, organize, and maintain documentation and supporting materials for permit applications, regulatory submittals, and internal use
- Support preparation of reports, notifications, and required compliance documentation
- Support coordination of compliance activities by gathering and organizing required information across internal teams
- Support field compliance activities, including assisting with emissions testing, data collection, and coordination with field teams to ensure accurate and complete information is captured
- Prepare and distribute routine compliance-related communications and updates
- Identify missing or incomplete information and communicate gaps for resolution
- Follow established processes and workflows to ensure consistent and accurate execution
- All other duties assigned.
Education
Required
- 2 Year / Associate Degree in environmental science, engineering, physical science, or a relevant field.
Preferred
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in environmental science, engineering, physical science, or a relevant field from an accredited university.
Experience
Required
- 1 year of experience in emissions regulations, compliance, or environmental science-related roles.
- Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
Required
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- In-depth knowledge of emissions regulations, including the Clean Air Act, NSPS, NESHAP, and Subpart JJJJ.
- Skilled in interpreting regulatory requirements and implementing processes to ensure operational compliance.
- Proficient in emissions data collection, tracking, and analysis to support compliance reporting and continuous improvement.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and operations to integrate compliance into product development and testing.
- Strong understanding of engine systems and emissions controls for optimizing emissions strategies.
- Effective at monitoring regulatory updates and advising internal teams on impact and alignment.
- Capable of developing and maintaining compliance documentation, training materials, and audit support tools.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills to support internal teams and customers with regulatory needs.
- Demonstrated ability to streamline compliance workflows and improve cross-functional efficiency.
- Able to work outdoors occasionally in all conditions.
- Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.
