Job Summary:
The Regional Vice President (RVP) drives revenue growth within their assigned region, while maintaining or improving upon existing profitability levels. The RVP is responsible for ensuring that the overall branch structure and staffing levels are appropriate for each branch, thereby maximizing revenue and growth at each location.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and submit comprehensive plans to the president outlining growth for existing branches, expansion through satellite branches where appropriate and needed, and establishment of distributors and dealers that can work harmoniously within existing branch territories. This plan will identify markets, target end users, and develop a prospect list to gain entry to end-user revenue, and identify the capital expansion required to successfully service that base
- Partner with leaders of each operational division to determine the overall structure of each individual branch based on each branch’s specific needs and workload
- Manage branch managers, and actively guide staffing activities by determining the appropriate organizational structure based on each branch’s operational activities and needs
- Maintain a heavy influence on all hiring and termination decisions
- Work with branch managers to identify and establish relationships with distributors and dealers within each branch territory to support revenue growth
- Ensure ongoing care and maintenance of distributor and dealer relationships either directly or through delegation
- Follow up with sales managers and account managers to make sure proper systems are used and employees are engaged to ensure revenue goals are met
- Partner with the HR Department to develop Performance Improvement Plans as needed, including remedial steps such as re-training, close supervision on all weekly activities, coaching and correction, etc.
- Mentor staff, molding all managers and holding them accountable to complete tasks that are assigned to them and outlined in their jobs descriptions
- Actively engage in the recruitment and sourcing of candidates by partnering with the Talent Acquisition to identify and establish long-term relationships, and regularly call on entities such as skilled trade schools (mechanics, CDL drivers, etc), vocational-tech programs, high schools and other sources where candidates can be solicited
- Onboard all new-hires employees by administering pre-designed on-boarding plans developed by the HR Department; providing feedback on how to better the on-boarding program on a continual basis
- Conduct regular job reviews with each branch focusing on proper quoting, L/R management, billing, inventory management, collections procedures, and ensuring profitability of projects
- Set up proper operations for prescribed asset readiness to include repair, project and inventory management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, construction management, or equivalent experience in a related field
- 10 years of experience in managing multi-unit establishments
- Demonstrated successful project and business management experience
- Planning and organization skills in handling multiple projects
- Proficient in PC software applications
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and/or technical manuals
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating and bidding procedures
- Knowledge of contract documents and specifications
- Skills in workflow analysis and management
- Complete P&L development and management
- Travel up to 50%
