Qualifications
The ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management. Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population. Must pocess necessary math and computer and website navigation skills. Complex reasoning and decision-making skills are critical.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Provides positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with their donation drop off, and offering thanks and any donation incentive and tax receipt.
- Handles all donations with care and respect.
- Sorts donated goods into categories such as furniture, glass, jewelry, shoes, textiles, wares, books and media, cardboard, and trash.
- Opens and closes the Attended Donation Site.
- Accurately counts and reports donation counts.
- Notifies management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise/materials being donated.
- Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
- Ensures the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free and maintains the cleanliness of the entire ADC area efficiently and to standard.
- Maintains a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
- Safeguards company property and personal information from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any theft, misappropriation, unethical/inappropriate behavior, or unauthorized possession of company property to a member of management, Human Resources, or Loss Prevention.
- Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
- Creates requests for merchandise pickup to the transportation department.
- All other duties as assigned.
