Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately install HVAC piping systems according to project specifications.
- Fabricate pipe assemblies using various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW, and welding to ensure strong, durable joints that meet ASME codes & standards.
- Measure and cut pipes with calipers and pipe benders; thread pipes using pipe threading tools for precise fitting.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely for pipe installation, assembly, soldering, tube bending, and rigging tasks on construction sites or manufacturing facilities.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols during all phases of work to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to interpret technical schematics, construction plans, and system layouts for seamless integration of piping systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience in pipefitting, fabrication, or HVAC piping installation within construction or manufacturing environments.
- Skilled in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding techniques; experience with welding preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with ASME codes & standards is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC systems.
- Proficient in using hand tools such as calipers, pipe wrenches, threading machines; adept at power tool safety practices.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations including NFPA standards; committed to maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe dimensions and system layouts.
- Construction site experience or manufacturing background preferred; ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics efficiently.
- Capable of rigging and assembly tasks involving complex piping systems; familiar with tube bending techniques.
