What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Associate position at Merry Go Rounds?
We are looking to hire a part-time retail associate for our children's consignment store! We offer a close-knit, fun working environment and are looking for someone who is detail-oriented and efficient, and who enjoys interacting with customers. The position will require approximately 15-20 hours per week. Full-day availability (10am-6pm) on Saturday is required. Partial or full days on Thursdays and Fridays are preferred. The work will be done on-site at our retail store in Easton, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities:
- Tag, hang, and put clothing and other items out onto the sales floor.
- Assist with store merchandising (steaming clothes, organizing racks, etc.).
- Maintain a neat and clean store environment (including basic cleaning/tidying).
- Provide outstanding customer service with a positive, professional attitude.
- Greet and interact with customers and consignors. Help customers shop, as requested.
- Check customers out; run and reconcile register.
- Respond to customer inquiries on social media and by phone.
Required qualities:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Excellent people skills.
- Strong computer skills.
- Customer service experience in a retail environment is a plus.
- Interest in fashion, children, secondhand shopping, sustainability, and/or small business is a plus.
