Metal Finisher – Architectural Metals (3-12 hr shifts: Friday to Sunday 6am-6pm)

Key Responsibilities
- Perform all stages of metal finishing, including grinding, sanding, buffing, and polishing on stainless steel, brass, bronze, and aluminum components.
- Achieve high-end surface finishes such as brushed, satin, mirror, or custom patina as specified.
- Inspect and prepare fabricated parts prior to finishing to ensure welds and surfaces meet quality standards.
- Use polishing tools, compounds, and equipment safely and effectively to produce uniform, defect-free surfaces.
- Maintain polishing stations and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper condition of all tools and supplies.
- Work closely with fabricators and management to meet project-specific aesthetic and quality requirements.
- Assist with packaging, protection, and handling of finished components to prevent damage.
- Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in metal finishing or polishing for architectural, ornamental, or fabrication work.
- Strong knowledge of surface preparation, grit sequencing, and polishing compounds.
- Experience with both manual and powered finishing tools (grinders, buffers, orbital sanders, etc.).
- Ability to produce consistent, high-quality finishes on various metals.
- Keen eye for detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and follow drawings, finish callouts, and written instructions.
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and maneuver materials throughout the workday.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with stainless steel mirror finishing, brass patinas, or architectural grade brushed finishes.
- Familiarity with protective coatings, oxidizing finishes, or clear lacquers for metals.
- Background in custom fabrication or high-end architectural work.
