Position Summary
Merritt Contracting is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to support project managers, superintendents, and field operations with day-to-day project coordination and administrative responsibilities.
This role is designed for someone looking to gain exposure to construction operations, project coordination, scheduling, documentation, and communication processes within commercial concrete and civil construction.
The Project Engineer will assist with project organization, reporting, documentation, material coordination, and operational support while learning the construction process from both the office and field side.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assist project managers and superintendents with daily project coordination
- Help organize project documents, drawings, RFIs, submittals, and schedules
- Track and maintain project paperwork and digital files
- Support communication between office staff, field crews, vendors, and subcontractors
- Assist with material ordering, delivery coordination, and follow-up
- Attend project meetings and take meeting notes when needed
- Help track production information, quantities, and project updates
- Support closeout documentation and project reporting
- Assist with jobsite photos, documentation, and organization
- Perform general administrative and operational support tasks
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
