This position is offered as a Professor of Practice (term position) as an open rank, for a full-time, 9-month contract to begin in Spring 2026.

accreditation)

Undergraduate minor in the Department of Applied Human Development and
Community Studies
Professional Studies Concentration in Speech, Language & Learning
Bachelor’s Degree Completion program

Work Location
This is an on-campus position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully
on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
Compensation
The expected 9-month base salary range (paid over 12 months) for the Assistant Instructional Professor position is $78,000-$90,000; for the Associate instructional Professor is $90,000-$110,000. The actual pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as, but not limited to, candidate qualifications and prior experience, scope of responsibilities, internal equity, and market considerations.

The Duties and Responsibilities of this position may include but are not limited to the following:
- Manage course scheduling and faculty assignments for undergraduate SLL courses.
- Provide undergraduate student career and academic advising.
- Coordinate the academic instructor evaluation process in the undergraduate programs.
- Collaborate with Merrimack College Offices (Admissions, Registrar, Student Support, etc.).
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in general and expertise-specific areas as negotiated with the Dean of the School of Education and Social Policy.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to determine the goals and strategic plan for the undergraduate SLL courses.
- Ensure that the SLL programs meet existing and long-term student needs.
- Maintain communication with external constituent/community groups integral to the enhancement of the academic and clinical undergraduate student experience.
- Provide examples of engagement and involvement in the field of communication sciences and disorders through academic, professional, research and public service.
- Identify and support the use of research knowledge and experiential learning activities across academic and clinical opportunities in the undergraduate SLL experience.
- A research doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology.
- Academic and clinical expertise in neurology, dysphagia, AAC, audiology, aphasia, voice, speech and hearing science and/or velopharyngeal function.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision according to ASHA guidelines.
- Teaching and administrative experience in Higher Education.
- A record of clinical and academic service commensurate with career stage.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) credential as well as eligibility for Massachusetts state licensure.
- Authorization to work in the US.
