CUSTODIAN
The Merrimac Center, a juvenile detention facility in Williamsburg, is seeking a full time custodian.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform all specified custodial work according to Center time schedules. Duties and responsibilities include floor care, removal/disposal of trash, cleaning offices, restrooms, and other specified areas; dusting, vacuuming and sweeping; polishing; shampooing carpets; glass cleaning; and restoring paper, soap, and hygiene supplies. Maintain supplies and equipment under established procedures. Consistent dependability is a MUST.
Minimum Qualifications Education: High School diploma (or equivalent). Experience: Two years of custodial or comparable experience preferred. Floor care experience. Skills and Capabilities: Service oriented. Attentive to detail for quality performance. Good communication skills (e.g., able to effectively respond to common inquiries). Effective interpersonal abilities. Able to get along with diverse personalities; is tactful and professional.
Requires a background investigation, child protective services check, and a physical exam with drug test. Competitive salary and benefits.
