What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nutrition Head Dishroom position at Merrillville Community School Corporation?
SCHEDULE: 10:30 am – 2:15 pm (3.75 hrs.)Monday through Friday when school is in session and lunch is servedDUTIES: Sets up dish machine, operates dish machine, keeps all dish room areas clean andrecord dish machine logs daily. Break down and clean dish machine after lunch isserved. Clean all sinks and both hand sinks in dish room area daily. On Friday –clean and delime dish machine and conveyor belts. Sweep mop all dish roomareas daily. Ensure that all dishes are clean and put away at the end of the day.Must be willing to come in early when needed and any other duties as assigned bythe Cafeteria Manager.REQUIREMENTS: Job requires good communication skills including writing and reading abilitiesas a successful applicant will need to communicate with students, staff, administrationand the public. Some computer knowledge helpful and must be willing to learnPoint of Sale Cashiering System. Applicant must be able to push, pull or lift itemsweighing at least 35 pounds. You will also be required to attend any job-relatedtraining as provided by the Food Service Dept. During probation, must be ableto pass the Food Handler Test with a passing score.
