Meat Cutter / Butcher

Pay $18 - $23 per hour

Full time

8-hour shift Monday – Friday Day shift / No weekends / NO OT

Will train a meat lover interested in getting into the industry

Position Summary:

The meat cutter / butcher will provide quality customer service through the cutting and preparation of specific cuts of meat ordered by customer base, sharing preparation techniques and offering recommendations to help streamline process or enhance customer experience.

Duties:

• Responsible for all meat products’; including cutting, trimming, grinding, packaging.
• Help increase sales by ensuring visually appealing products and presentation.
• Reduce waste by following production lists and trim standards.
• Take orders or requests and complete them in a timely manner.
• Ensure all product is available for purchase and replenish as needed.
• Properly prepare, package and price products sold to our customers.
• Teardown of equipment, cleaning and sanitizing.
• Other duties as needed.

Education:

• HS diploma or equivalent preferred.- will train a motivated individual
• Food safety certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of perishable foods preferred. Will train

Skills & Abilities Required:

• Candidate must be 18 years or older to use equipment in department.
• Able to lift to 60 LB’s.
• Friendly, courteous, customer service-based attitude
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Ability to accommodate a fluctuating schedule.(days only)

Working Conditions:

• Position requires a candidate to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Smoke – free environment.
• Fast – paced environment, requiring standing up to 8 hours per day.
• Work is primarily done in cut rooms at cool temperatures, at times may be exposed to cooler temperatures when walking or working in cooler or freezer.
