Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. Performs preventive maintenance using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and supports continuous improvement efforts. Must work safely, independently, and with attention to detail. Works Monday – Friday 1st Shift – 8 hours, 5 days per week, with rare Saturdays/Overtime/Call-Ins required.
What you'll do
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues from parts change to component rebuild
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues from power distribution to PLCs and controls
- Use CMMS to create, manage and complete maintenance work orders
- Follow all safety protocols and report/correct hazards or unsafe conditions immediately
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and part catalogs for accurate repairs
- Research and requisition parts to support repairs/stores replenishment.
- Support bi-annual facility shutdowns and occasional call-in maintenance needs
- Participate in lean/process improvement initiatives and suggest process improvements
- Conduct weekly Gemba walk to identify and address opportunities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment including weekly departmental deep cleaning
- All other duties as assigned
Who you are
- High school diploma or GED required; technical school training or 5 years of industrial/manufacturing maintenance experience preferred
- Skilled in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, multi-meters, amp clamps, etc.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, and parts catalogs
- Comfortable with MS Office suite, Outlook Email, CMMS software
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to following protocols
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Effective communicator and team player
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing frequent bending, squatting, and walking
- Comfortable working in noisy, hot, cold, or dusty manufacturing environments
- Normal schedule: 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week
- Overtime and call-in work may be required
