Position Summary: A machine operator at Merlin Mold & Manufacturing, Inc., will spend their day operating a plastic injection molding machine . This will include monitoring machine made products, ensuring each part meets quality standards and properly handling each part according to its individual process, which may contain gauging, trimming, and more. A Machine Operator at Merlin is monitored and responsible for meeting quoted cycle times, understanding quality alerts, and executing proper documentation throughout and at the end of each day.
Job Specifications/Minimum Qualifications:
- Is 18 years of age or older
- Has a high school diploma or equivalent
- Can compute sums using basic math skills including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, etc.,
- Has the ability to sit, stand, bend, twist, and/or reach for extended periods of time. (With or without reasonable accommodations.)
- Has the ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs. (With or without reasonable accommodation.)
- Has full manual dexterity to execute secondary operations such as trimming, gauging, etc.
- Can communicate clearly and effectively using verbal and written methods of communication.
- Can comprehend written instructions. (With or without reasonable accommodation.)
Primary Job Duties
- Operates plastic injection machines according to job specific instructions daily
- Clearly documents start up scrap, production scrap, down time, etc., daily
- Performs secondary work/assemblies such as gauging, trimming, inserting, etc.
- Visually inspects product for defects during operation to prevent scrap, downtime, etc.
- Performs basic housekeeping such as sweeping around area, vacuuming up trimmings, etc.
- Packages and properly labels products according to work instructions.

- Clear and respectful communication with supervisors, technicians, and quality staff.
- Flexibility to move between workstations when needed
This is a full time position and may require overtime to meet production demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $19.50 per hour
